Product Overview
Clone DFA-8 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes histone H2A type 1-B/E (gene H2AC4) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 14.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 14 kDa.
Histone H2A type 1-B/E (H2AC4) is a replication-dependent canonical H2A, one of the four core histones that form the nucleosome octamer. Nucleosomes package DNA into chromatin and control its access to transcription, replication and repair machinery, with post-translational histone marks adding a further layer of regulation. Canonical H2A is studied in chromatin biology and epigenetics.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 12% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human stomach cancer tissue, human pancreas cancer tissue, human ovarian cancer tissue, human esophageal cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human breast cancer tissue, mouse brain tissue, rat brain tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
