Product Overview
Clone ACCF-8 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes high mobility group protein B2 (gene HMGB2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 24.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 24 kDa.
HMGB2 is a chromatin-associated HMG-box protein that binds DNA with a preference for bent or unusual structures and increases DNA flexibility, helping transcription factors and the RAG recombinase act. It is highly expressed in proliferating cells, lymphoid tissues and testis, and it can also act as an extracellular inflammatory signal.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes high mobility group protein B2 as secreted and also located in the nucleus, chromosome and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in gastric and intestinal tissues (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
