Product Overview
Clone ABEC-8 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 (gene HNRNPA1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 38.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 36 kDa.
hnRNP A1 (HNRNPA1) is one of the most abundant heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins. It packages newly made RNA, shuttles between nucleus and cytoplasm and regulates alternative splicing, for example promoting production of the PKM2 isoform of pyruvate kinase. It also influences mRNA export and translation and is studied in RNA biology, cancer and neurodegeneration.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human Daudi cells, human MOLT-4 cells, human HL-60 cells, rat RH35 cells, rat C6 cells, mouse HEPA1–6 cells, mouse Neuro-2a cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human stomach cancer tissue, human placenta tissue, human pancreas cancer tissue, human esophageal cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human breast cancer tissue, mouse ovary tissue, rat ovary tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human hnRNP A1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A1 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
