Product Overview
Clone FOE-8 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein K (gene HNRNPK) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 51.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
hnRNP K (HNRNPK) binds cytidine-rich RNA and single-stranded DNA through its KH domains. It works at many levels of gene expression, including transcription, splicing, mRNA stability and translation, and it acts as a cofactor of p53 in the DNA damage response. It is studied widely in RNA biology and cancer.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human HepG2 cells, human MCF-7 cells, rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue, mouse thymus tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:5000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): mouse brain tissue, rat brain tissue, human placenta tissue, human lymphoma tissue, human ovarian cancer tissue, human rectal cancer tissue, human esophageal cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human breast cancer tissue, human liver cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human hnRNP K.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein K in the cytoplasm, nucleus and cell projection. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
