Product Overview
Clone AEDD-8 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein U (gene HNRNPU) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 90.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 120 kDa.
hnRNP U (HNRNPU, also called SAF-A) binds both DNA and RNA and helps organize chromatin by anchoring it to the nuclear matrix. It is involved in transcription, splicing, mRNA stability and mitosis, and it helps localize Xist RNA during X-chromosome inactivation. De novo HNRNPU variants are linked to a neurodevelopmental disorder.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): K562 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human breast cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human esophageal cancer tissue, human rectal cancer tissue, human ovarian cancer tissue, human tonsil cancer tissue, human liver cancer tissue, human pancreas cancer tissue, human placenta tissue, human stomach cancer tissue, mouse brain tissue, rat brain tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human hnRNP U.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein U in the nucleus, nucleus matrix, chromosome and nucleus speckle. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
