Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes homeobox protein Hox-A5 (gene HOXA5) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 29.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 29 kDa.
HOXA5 is a homeobox transcription factor from the HOXA cluster that helps specify positional identity in the embryo. It is important for lung, trachea and skeletal development and can regulate its own promoter. It is studied in lung development and as a gene often silenced in tumors.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue, human HeLa cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human HOXA5. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 100% and 97.6%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places homeobox protein Hox-A5 in the nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
