Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes heat shock cognate 71 kDa protein (gene HSPA8) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, ICC/IF, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 70.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 71 kDa.
HSC70 (HSPA8) is the constitutively expressed HSP70 chaperone. It helps fold new proteins, uncoats clathrin-coated vesicles and delivers selected cytosolic proteins to lysosomes through chaperone-mediated autophagy, so it is studied in protein homeostasis, membrane trafficking and neurodegeneration.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places heat shock cognate 71 kDa protein in the cytoplasm, melanosome, nucleus and cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
