Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase RNF138 in human samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 28.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 28 kDa.
RNF138 is a RING E3 ubiquitin ligase involved in the DNA damage response. It is recruited to DNA double-strand breaks, where it promotes end resection and favors repair by homologous recombination over non-homologous end joining, in part by removing the Ku complex from DNA ends.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human MOLT-4 cells, human U-937 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U2OS cells, U87 cells.

Recombinant human HSD-4/RNF138 fragment (His210–Ile245), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase RNF138 in the chromosome. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
