Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase-like protein 2 (gene HSDL2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 45.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 45 kDa.
HSDL2 (hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase-like 2) is a member of the short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase family that has little or no steroid dehydrogenase activity. It has been linked to control of bile acid and lipid metabolism in response to nutrition, but its function is not fully characterized.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): human intestinal cancer tissue.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human HSDL2 fragment (Lys24–Lys284), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 87.7% and 87%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase-like protein 2 in the peroxisome and mitochondrion. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
