Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets heat shock factor protein 4 (gene HSF4) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 53.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 53 kDa.
Heat shock factor 4 (HSF4) is a heat shock element-binding transcription factor expressed strongly in the eye lens. It is required for lens fiber cell differentiation, including the removal of nuclei and organelles that keeps the lens transparent, and HSF4 mutations cause inherited cataract.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa cells, MCF-7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human HSF4. It differs from the mouse sequence at two residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places heat shock factor protein 4 in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in heart, skeletal muscle, eye and brain, and at much lower levels in some other tissues. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
