Product Overview
Clone DGE-8 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes heat shock 70 kDa protein 1A (gene HSPA1A) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 70.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 70 kDa.
HSP70-1A (HSPA1A) is one of the major stress-inducible HSP70 chaperones. It uses ATP-driven binding and release of exposed hydrophobic segments to refold damaged proteins, prevent aggregation and direct unsalvageable proteins to degradation. Its strong induction by heat and other stresses makes it a widely used marker of the cellular stress response.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human K562 cells, human 293T cells, human MCF-7 cells, human HepG2 cells, rat heart tissue, rat liver tissue, mouse heart tissue, mouse liver tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human hsp70.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes heat shock 70 kDa protein 1A as secreted and also located in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
