Product Overview

Clone IBD-20 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes heat shock protein 75 kDa, mitochondrial (gene TRAP1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 80.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 75 kDa.

TRAP1 (heat shock protein 75, mitochondrial) is the mitochondrial member of the HSP90 chaperone family. It helps maintain mitochondrial protein folding and membrane potential and acts as a brake on oxidative phosphorylation, shifting the balance toward glycolysis. TRAP1 is often elevated in tumors and is studied in cancer metabolism and mitochondrial stress responses.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places heat shock protein 75 kDa, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion, mitochondrion inner membrane and mitochondrion matrix. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Found in skeletal muscle, liver, heart, brain, kidney, pancreas, lung, placenta and bladder. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:2000; Immunoprecipitation 1:20. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 80.1 kDa; observed band at about 75 kDa.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human hsp75.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
