Product Overview
Clone BAC-8 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes heat shock protein HSP 90-alpha (gene HSP90AA1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 84.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 85 kDa.
HSP90α (HSP90AA1) is the stress-inducible form of the HSP90 molecular chaperone. It works through an ATP-driven cycle with many co-chaperones to fold, stabilize and activate client proteins such as kinases, steroid receptors and transcription factors. Because many cancer-related proteins depend on it, HSP90 is a major research and drug target.
