Product Overview
Clone HIC-8 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes heat shock 70 kDa protein 14 (gene HSPA14) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 54.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 55 kDa.
HSPA14 is an HSP70-family chaperone that forms the ribosome-associated complex (RAC) with the J-protein DNAJC2. Sitting near the ribosome exit tunnel, this complex binds newly made polypeptide chains and helps keep them in a state competent for folding.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human HSPA14.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places heat shock 70 kDa protein 14 in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
