Product Overview

Antibody M-T441 recognizes an extracellular epitope(4) within the domain 2 region of the CD4 molecule and reacts with human CD4 cell transfectants (1). It has been reported to cross react with Baboon CD4.

Human CD4 is a cell surface glycoprotein of 55 kd expressed on most thymocytes, on about two thirds of peripheral T cells, and on some monocyte macrophage lineage cells. CD4 interacts with MHC Class II molecules in an accessory role during foreign antigen recognition by T cells. The extracellular portion of CD4 is an array of four Ig-like domains. The amino terminal region of CD4 is a receptor for the HIV-1 viral protein gp120. Antibodies QS4120 (cat #147-020) and M-T441 each bind to a distinct epitope of CD4 and are suitable as a matched pair for EIA using QS4120 as capture and Biotinylated M-T441(cat# 148-030) as detector.

What applications has this antibody been validated for?

This antibody has been validated for FC, EIA. Always refer to the product datasheet for recommended dilution ranges and appropriate positive control samples for each application type.

Which species does this antibody react with?

Validated reactivity has been confirmed for Human, Baboon. Cross-reactivity with additional species may exist based on sequence homology but has not been confirmed by the manufacturer. For unlisted species, we recommend running a preliminary validation experiment.

What secondary antibody should I pair with this product?

This antibody was raised in Mouse. For indirect detection (WB, IHC, IF), select an anti-Mouse secondary antibody that matches the isotype. For direct detection, check the variant selector for conjugated formats. Confirm secondary antibody compatibility before ordering.

What is the immunogen used to generate this antibody?

P815 cells transfected with human CD4

How should this antibody be stored?

Please refer to the storage conditions on the product label and datasheet. As a general best practice: upon receipt, aliquot into single-use volumes to minimize freeze-thaw cycling, which can progressively reduce antibody performance and lead to aggregation.

Is this antibody suitable for use with my specific cell line or tissue?

Validated reactivity covers Human, Baboon samples. Performance can vary across different cell lines and tissue types depending on target antigen expression levels and epitope accessibility. We recommend verifying target expression in your specific model system using a known positive control before proceeding to experimental samples.
