Product Overview

Antibody HP-3D9 recognizes the CD94 molecule of 70 kd (5). It has been reported to cross react with canine CD94.

Human CD94 expression is restricted to natural killer (NK) cells, NKT cells and a subset of CD8+ T lymphocytes. CD94 is a type II membrane glycoprotein of the c-type lectin superfamily and essentially lacks a cytoplasmic tail (4). CD94 forms a heterodimer with molecules of the NKG2 family which can recognize MHC Class Ib (HLA-E) antigen presenting molecules.

Functional Activity

Antibody HP-3D9 inhibits IL-2 dependent proliferation of NK cells. It can also affect NK-cell mediated lysis of P815 cells in vitro (7). HP-3D9 blocks binding of CD94/NKG2A, B and C heterodimers to HLA-E tetramer.
