Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes huntingtin (gene HTT) in human samples and is validated for IHC and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 347.6 kDa.
Huntingtin (HTT) is a large, widely expressed protein thought to act as a scaffold in microtubule-based vesicle transport, and an N-terminal fragment has been linked to autophagy. Expansion of a CAG repeat encoding a polyglutamine tract in HTT causes Huntington′s disease, which makes the protein a major focus of neurodegeneration research.

Validated Applications
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|---|
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human breast cancer tissue, human cervix squamous cells carcinoma tissue, human colon adenocarcinoma tissue, human endometrioid adenocarcinoma tissue, human liver cancer tissue, human lung cancer tissue, human placenta tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Recombinant human Huntingtin/HTT fragment (Arg3079–Cys3142), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 93.8% and 92.2%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places huntingtin in the [Huntingtin]: Cytoplasm, nucleus and early endosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in the brain cortex (at protein level).
