Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects intercellular adhesion molecule 5 (gene ICAM5) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 97.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 140 kDa.
ICAM-5 (telencephalin) is an immunoglobulin superfamily adhesion molecule expressed on the dendrites of neurons in the telencephalon. It forms homophilic contacts that promote dendrite outgrowth and branching in hippocampal neurons, and it binds the leukocyte integrin LFA-1, linking neurons with immune cells in the brain.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HeLa cells.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places intercellular adhesion molecule 5 in the cell membrane and cell projection. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed on neurons in the most rostral segment of the mammalian brain, the telencephalon. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
