Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes DNA-binding protein inhibitor ID-2 (gene ID2) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 14.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 15 kDa.
ID2 (inhibitor of DNA binding 2) is a helix-loop-helix protein without a DNA-binding domain that forms inactive dimers with basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors. By blocking their activity it regulates cell growth and differentiation in many tissues, including neural development and the specification of innate lymphoid and NK cells.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Rat, Human) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human ID2. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse. It differs from the rat sequence at one residue.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places DNA-binding protein inhibitor ID-2 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in early fetal tissues, including those of the central nervous system. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
