Product Overview

This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects isopentenyl-diphosphate Delta-isomerase 1 (gene IDI1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 26.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 26–28 kDa.

IDI1 (isopentenyl-diphosphate isomerase 1) converts isopentenyl diphosphate into its isomer dimethylallyl diphosphate, the two five-carbon building blocks of all isoprenoids. This step in the mevalonate pathway is needed for the synthesis of cholesterol and other isoprenoids, and IDI1 is studied in sterol and lipid metabolism.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places isopentenyl-diphosphate Delta-isomerase 1 in the peroxisome. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety
