Product Overview
Clone 29I92 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes intraflagellar transport protein 88 homolog (gene IFT88) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 94.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 93 kDa.
IFT88 (also called polaris) is a core component of intraflagellar transport complex B and is required to build primary cilia. Loss of IFT88 blocks ciliogenesis and disrupts cilia-dependent signaling such as the Hedgehog pathway, and the protein has also been linked to autophagy, so it is widely used in cilia and polycystic kidney research.
