Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 1 (gene Igfbp1) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for ELISA and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 29.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 28 kDa.
IGFBP-1 is a secreted insulin-like growth factor binding protein produced mainly by the liver and by decidualized endometrium. It binds IGF-1 and IGF-2 and controls their access to receptors, with levels acutely regulated by insulin and nutritional state, and it can also signal through integrin α5β1 to promote cell migration.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat kidney tissue, mouse kidney tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of mouse IGFBP-1. It differs from the human sequence at eleven residues and from the rat sequence at one residue.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt describes insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 1 as a secreted protein. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
