Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 2 (gene IGFBP2) in human samples and is validated for ELISA, IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 34.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 35 kDa.
IGFBP-2 is a secreted insulin-like growth factor binding protein that controls the availability of IGF-1 and IGF-2 to their receptors. It is abundant in cerebrospinal fluid and during development, has IGF-independent effects on signaling, and is studied in metabolism, obesity and cancer biology.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human SH-SY5Y cells, human T-47D cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human lung cancer tissue, human mammary cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in citrate buffer (pH 6).

Recombinant human IGFBP2 fragment (Ala36–Gln325), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 2 as a secreted protein. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
