Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets interleukin-13 (gene Il13) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 14.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 19 kDa.
Interleukin-13 (IL-13) is a type 2 cytokine produced by Th2 cells, group 2 innate lymphoid cells and mast cells. It signals mainly through the IL-4Rα/IL13RA1 receptor and STAT6, driving mucus production, airway hyperresponsiveness and tissue remodeling, and it is a central mediator in allergic inflammation, asthma and anti-parasite immunity.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse spleen tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): mouse spleen tissue, rat lymph node tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Recombinant mouse Il13 fragment (Pro22–Phe131), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt describes interleukin-13 as a secreted protein. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
