Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects interleukin-17C (gene IL17C) in human and mouse samples and is validated for ELISA and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 21.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 29 kDa.
Interleukin-17C (IL-17C) is a member of the IL-17 family produced mainly by epithelial cells rather than lymphocytes. Signaling through IL17RA and IL17RE, it acts on epithelium in an autocrine manner to induce antimicrobial peptides and inflammatory mediators via NF-κB and MAPK, and it is studied in skin and mucosal defense.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|---|
| ELISA (capture antibody) | 1–5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse spleen tissue, mouse thymus tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human IL17C fragment (His19–Val197), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt describes interleukin-17C as a secreted protein. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
