- Molecular weight: 130 kDa
- Applications: WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA
Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-IL32 Antibody Picoband® (monoclonal, 2I2) catalog # M03286.
Biological background
Biological context: Cytokine that may play a role in innate and adaptive immune responses. It induces various cytokines such as TNFA/TNF-alpha and IL8. It activates typical cytokine signal pathways of NF-kappa-B and p38 MAPK.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Secreted, tissue context: Expressed in all tissues, but more abundant in heart, brain and skeletal muscle..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare IL32 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of IL32 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify IL32-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Specificity: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
- Background: Interleukin 32 (Il32) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IL32 gene. This gene encodes a member of the cytokine family. The protein contains a tyrosine sulfation site, 3 potential N-myristoylation sites, multiple putative phosphorylation sites, and an RGD cell-attachment sequence. Expression of this protein is increased after the activation of T-cells by mitogens or the activation of NK cells by IL-2. This protein induces the production of TNFalpha from macrophage cells. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Secreted
- Tissue details: Expressed in all tissues, but more abundant in heart, brain and skeletal muscle.
- Research category: ER Proteins,Immunology,Protein Trafficking,Signal Transduction
