Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets interleukin-7 (gene Il7) in mouse and rat samples and is validated for IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 17.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 20 kDa.
Interleukin-7 (IL-7) is a cytokine produced by stromal and epithelial cells that is essential for lymphocyte development and homeostasis. Through IL-7Rα and the common gamma chain, it activates JAK1/JAK3, STAT5 and PI3K–AKT signaling to support the development of T and B cells and the survival of naive and memory T cells.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse brain tissue, mouse thymus tissue, NIH3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): mouse lymph nodes tissue, rat lymph nodes tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Recombinant mouse IL7 fragment (Glu26–Ile154), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the human and rat orthologs: 56.4% and 87.6%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse and rat. UniProt describes interleukin-7 as a secreted protein. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
