Product Overview

Clone 20I47 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase 2 (gene IMPDH2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 55.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 56 kDa.

IMPDH2 (inosine-5′-monophosphate dehydrogenase 2) catalyzes the conversion of IMP to XMP, the rate-limiting step in de novo guanine nucleotide synthesis. It is the predominant isoform in proliferating cells, including activated lymphocytes, and it is the target of immunosuppressive drugs such as mycophenolic acid. It is studied in cell growth, metabolism and cancer.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human IMPDH2.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase 2 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): IMPDH1 is the main species in normal leukocytes and IMPDH2 predominates over IMPDH1 in the tumor. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
