Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes inhibitor of growth protein 1 (gene ING1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 46.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 47 kDa.
ING1 (inhibitor of growth 1) is the founding member of the ING family of chromatin-associated proteins that contain a PHD finger recognizing histone H3K4me3. It works with p53 to restrain cell growth and promote apoptosis, and it is regarded as a candidate tumor suppressor in cancer research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa cells, A549 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Synthetic peptide from the middle region of human ING1. It differs from the mouse sequence at seven residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places inhibitor of growth protein 1 in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform 2 was expressed in all normal tissues and cells examined, as well as in all breast cancer and melanoma cell lines examined. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
