Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes inhibitor of growth protein 5 (gene ING5) in human and monkey samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 27.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 32 kDa.
ING5 (inhibitor of growth 5) is a subunit of the HBO1 and MOZ/MORF histone acetyltransferase complexes, which acetylate histones H3 and H4. Through these complexes it helps regulate DNA replication and transcription, and it can slow cell growth and promote apoptosis.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Jurkat cells, human PC-3 cells, human 293T cells, monkey COS-7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): SiHa cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Jurkat cells.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and monkey. UniProt places inhibitor of growth protein 5 in the nucleus and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Down-regulated in bone marrow cells in acute myeloid leukemia patients as compared with normal bone marrow cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
