| Immunogen | A synthesized peptide derived from human Inhibin alpha Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland. Inhibins/activins are involved in regulating a number of diverse functions such as hypothalamic and pituitary hormone secretion, gonadal hormone secretion, germ cell development and maturation, erythroid differentiation, insulin secretion, nerve cell survival, embryonic axial development or bone growth, depending on their subunit composition. |

Product Overview
Clone AEOF-9 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes inhibin alpha chain (gene INHA) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 39.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 40 kDa.
The inhibin alpha subunit (INHA) pairs with a beta-A or beta-B subunit to form inhibin A or inhibin B, gonadal hormones made mainly by granulosa and Sertoli cells. Inhibins suppress pituitary FSH secretion by antagonizing activin signaling, and they are studied in reproductive endocrinology and gonadal function.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human inhibin alpha Inhibins and activins inhibit and activate, respectively, the secretion of follitropin by the pituitary gland.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes inhibin alpha chain as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Originally found in ovary (granulosa cells) and testis (Sertoli cells), but widely distributed in many tissues including brain and placenta. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
