Product Overview
Clone BFE-9 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes integrin beta-3 (gene ITGB3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 87.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 110 kDa.
Integrin beta-3 (ITGB3, CD61) pairs with alpha-IIb to form the platelet fibrinogen receptor and with alpha-V to form the vitronectin receptor αVβ3. These integrins mediate platelet aggregation, cell adhesion to RGD-containing matrix proteins, angiogenesis and bone resorption by osteoclasts. Mutations in ITGB3 cause Glanzmann thrombasthenia.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places integrin beta-3 in the cell membrane, cell projection, cell junction and postsynaptic cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform beta-3A and isoform beta-3C are widely expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
