Product Overview
Clone AOHB-9 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes interferon beta (gene IFNB1) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 22.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 22 kDa.
Interferon beta (IFNB1) is a type I interferon made by many cell types, especially fibroblasts and epithelial cells, when they detect viral infection. It binds the IFNAR1/IFNAR2 receptor and activates JAK-STAT signaling to switch on antiviral and immunoregulatory genes, and it is a central cytokine in innate immunity research.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 1:500–1:2000 |
|---|---|
| Immunoprecipitation | 1:20 |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human interferon beta.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes interferon beta as a secreted protein. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
