Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes interferon gamma (gene IFNG) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 19.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 19 kDa.
Interferon gamma is the only type II interferon. It is produced mainly by activated T cells and NK cells, signals through IFNGR1/IFNGR2 and the JAK1/JAK2–STAT1 pathway, and activates macrophages and antigen presentation, making it a key readout of Th1 and cytotoxic immune responses.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): recombinant human IFN gamma protein.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human IFN gamma.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes interferon gamma as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Released primarily from activated T lymphocytes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
