Overview

This antibody is intended for detection of CXCL10 (C-X-C motif chemokine 10) in biological samples using common immunoassay formats. It is typically selected based on target identity, species reactivity, clonality/clone information, and detection modality.

Vendor notes: Boster Bio Anti-IP10/CXCL10 Antibody Picoband® catalog # PB9695. Tested in ELISA, WB applications. This antibody reacts with Human. The brand Picoband indicates this is a premium antibody that guarantees superior quality, high affinity, and strong signals with minimal background in Western blot applications. Only our best-performing antibodies are designated as Picoband, ensuring unmatched performance.

Key elements and design rationale

  • Antibody format: Rabbit Polyclonal Rabbit IgG
  • Immunogen / epitope context: E. coli-derived human IP10 recombinant protein (Position: V22-P98). Human IP10 shares 70.1% and 72.7% amino acid (aa) sequence identity with mouse and rat IP10, respectively. (reported region: V22-P98).
  • Molecular weight context: reported MW: 34 kDa; calculated MW: 10881 MW
  • Reactivity: Human
  • Applications: ELISA, WB

As a polyclonal antibody, the reagent recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve detection robustness but may increase sensitivity to sample-dependent epitope changes.

Biological background

C-X-C motif chemokine 10; C-X-C motif chemokine 10. C-X-C motif chemokine 10 (CXCL10), also known as Interferon gamma-induced protein 10 kDa (IP-10) or small-inducible cytokine B10, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CXCL10 gene. It is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. The gene for CXCL10 is located on human chromosome 4 in a cluster among several other CXC chemokines. Luster et al. (1987) reported the isolation of an interferon-inducible gene that encodes a 98-amino acid protein called IP10. The chemokine IFN-gamma-inducible protein 10 (IP-10; CXCL10), a CXC chemokine, and its receptor, CXCR3, were found to be overexpressed in lymph node cells of EAMG rats. IP10 inhibits bone marrow colony formation, has antitumor activity in vivo, is a chemoattractant for human monocytes and T cells, and promotes T cell adhesion to endothelial cells. Functional note: Chemotactic for monocytes and T-lymphocytes. Binds to CXCR3. Reported localization: Secreted.

Research relevance and current trends

  • Angiogenesis: Researchers commonly examine how CXCL10 (C-X-C motif chemokine 10) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Cancer: Researchers commonly examine how CXCL10 (C-X-C motif chemokine 10) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.
  • Chemokines: Researchers commonly examine how CXCL10 (C-X-C motif chemokine 10) relates to this theme using model systems and orthogonal readouts.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting: compare relative CXCL10 (C-X-C motif chemokine 10) levels across conditions; band patterns may reflect isoforms and processing.
  • ELISA-compatible use: when applicable, interpret signal as relative abundance across sample sets with consistent handling and dilution strategy.

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Specificity notes: No cross reactivity with other proteins.
  • Cross-reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins
  • Isoforms and PTMs: Apparent size and signal patterns can differ across splice isoforms, proteolytic processing, and post-translational modifications.
  • Controls: Include an isotype control (as relevant), no-primary control for imaging, and orthogonal validation such as KD/KO samples when available.

I was wanting to use your anti-IP10/CXCL10 antibody for ELISA for human ectocervix on frozen tissues, but I want to know if it has been validated for this particular application. Has this antibody been validated and is this antibody a good choice for human ectocervix identification?
As indicated on the product datasheet, PB9695 anti-IP10/CXCL10 antibody has been tested for ELISA, WB on human tissues. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in human ectocervix in IHC-frozen, you can get your next antibody for free.
My question regarding product PB9695, anti-IP10/CXCL10 antibody. I was wondering if it would be possible to conjugate this antibody with biotin. I would need it to be without BSA or sodium azide. I am planning on using a buffer exchange of sodium azide with PBS only. Would there be problems for me to conjugate the antibody and store it in -20 degrees in small aliquots?
We do not advise storing this antibody with PBS buffer only in -20 degrees. If you want to store it in -20 degrees it is best to add some cryoprotectant like glycerol. If you want carrier free PB9695 anti-IP10/CXCL10 antibody, we can provide it to you in a special formula with trehalose and/or glycerol. These molecules will not interfere with conjugation chemistry and provide a good level of protection for the antibody from degradation. Please be sure to specify this in your purchase order.
