Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets interferon regulatory factor 5 (gene IRF5) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for IHC and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 56.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 56 kDa.
Interferon regulatory factor 5 (IRF5) is a transcription factor activated downstream of endosomal Toll-like receptors TLR7, TLR8 and TLR9 via MyD88. It induces type I interferons and inflammatory cytokines and promotes inflammatory macrophage polarization, and genetic variants of IRF5 are associated with systemic lupus erythematosus.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat intestine tissue, HeLa cells, COLO320 cells, NIH3T3 cells, HEPA cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): mouse spleen tissue, rat spleen tissue, human mammary cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human IRF5. It differs from the mouse sequence at three residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places interferon regulatory factor 5 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
