Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets interferon regulatory factor 5 (gene IRF5) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 56.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
Interferon regulatory factor 5 (IRF5) is a transcription factor activated downstream of endosomal Toll-like receptors TLR7, TLR8 and TLR9 via MyD88. It induces type I interferons and inflammatory cytokines and promotes inflammatory macrophage polarization, and genetic variants of IRF5 are associated with systemic lupus erythematosus.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human A549 cells, human SH-SY5Y cells, rat PC-12 cells, rat C6 cells, mouse RAW264.7 cells, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A549 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): SH-SY5Y cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human IRF5 fragment (Arg98–Ala477), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 85.6%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places interferon regulatory factor 5 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
