Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes integral membrane protein 2C (gene ITM2C) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA.
ITM2C (integral membrane protein 2C, also BRI3) is a type II membrane protein of the ITM2 family, expressed highly in the brain. It binds the amyloid precursor protein and can reduce its processing into amyloid-β peptides, so it is studied in neurobiology and Alzheimer′s disease research.

Recombinant human ITM2C fragment (Glu33–Asp226), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 94.8%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places integral membrane protein 2C in the lysosome membrane and cell membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): High levels in the brain, specifically in the cerebral cortex, medulla, amygdala, hippocampus, thalamus, caudate nucleus, cerebellum, olfactory lobe and spinal cord.
