Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase (gene ITPA) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 21.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 21 kDa.
Inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase (ITPA) removes non-canonical purine nucleotides such as ITP, dITP and XTP by converting them to monophosphates. This prevents their incorporation into DNA and RNA. Common ITPA variants reduce enzyme activity and are known to influence the toxicity of thiopurine drugs and ribavirin-associated anemia.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): human intestinal cancer tissue.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): K562 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human ITPA fragment (Met1–Ala194), expressed in E. coli. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 89.6% and 92.1%, respectively.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places inosine triphosphate pyrophosphatase in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitous. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
