Product Overview
Clone 17J71 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes tyrosine-protein kinase JAK3 in human samples and is validated for Western blot and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 125.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 125 kDa.
JAK3 is a Janus family tyrosine kinase found mainly in blood and immune cells, where it pairs with the common gamma chain shared by receptors for IL-2, IL-4, IL-7, IL-9, IL-15 and IL-21. Working with JAK1, it phosphorylates these receptors and STAT proteins such as STAT5, driving lymphocyte development and activation. Loss of JAK3 causes a form of severe combined immunodeficiency, and it is a target of JAK inhibitor research.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human JAK3.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places tyrosine-protein kinase JAK3 in the endomembrane system and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): In NK cells and an NK-like cell line but not in resting T-cells or in other tissues.
