Product Overview
Clone 21J42 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes protein Jumonji (gene JARID2) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 138.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 139 kDa.
JARID2 (Jumonji) is an accessory subunit of Polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2), which places the repressive H3K27me3 mark on chromatin. Although it carries a Jumonji domain, it lacks demethylase activity; instead it binds DNA and helps recruit PRC2 to target genes in embryonic stem cells. It is essential for embryonic development, including heart, liver, neural tube and blood formation, and is studied in stem cell biology and epigenetics.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): NCCIT cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human jarid2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places protein Jumonji in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): During embryogenesis, predominantly expressed in neurons and particularly in dorsal root ganglion cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
