Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes mitogen-activated protein kinase 8 (gene MAPK8) in rat, mouse and human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 48.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
JNK1 (MAPK8) is a stress-activated serine/threonine kinase of the c-Jun N-terminal kinase family. Cytokines, UV light and other stresses switch it on through the upstream kinases MKK4 and MKK7, after which it phosphorylates c-Jun, ATF2 and other AP-1 components. It is widely studied in apoptosis, inflammation, T-helper cell differentiation and metabolic stress.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HT1080 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human JNK1. The peptide sequence is conserved in rat and mouse.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with rat, mouse and human. UniProt places mitogen-activated protein kinase 8 in the cytoplasm, nucleus and synapse. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
