Product Overview

Clone EIF-13 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes mitogen-activated protein kinase 9 (gene MAPK9) in human, monkey, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 48.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 48 kDa.

JNK2 (MAPK9) is a close relative of JNK1 in the c-Jun N-terminal kinase branch of MAP kinase signaling. Activated by inflammatory cytokines and cellular stress, it phosphorylates c-Jun and other transcription factors to shape gene expression, and it often shares or balances roles with JNK1 in cell death, immune responses and stress adaptation.

Validated Applications

Western blot 1:500–1:2000
Immunohistochemistry 1:50–1:200
Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence 1:50–1:200
Immunoprecipitation 1:20
Flow cytometry 1:20

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human 293T cells, monkey COS-7 cells, rat brain tissue, rat liver tissue, mouse brain tissue.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): rat intestine tissue, human prostate cancer tissue, human astrocytoma tissue, mouse skin tissue, human colon tissue.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human JNK2.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human, monkey, mouse and rat. UniProt places mitogen-activated protein kinase 9 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
