Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets histone acetyltransferase KAT2A in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 93.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 94 kDa.
KAT2A (GCN5) is a histone acetyltransferase that works within the SAGA and ATAC coactivator complexes. It acetylates histone H3, especially at Lys9, as well as non-histone proteins, and can also transfer other acyl groups such as succinyl groups, marking genes for active transcription. It is studied in chromatin regulation, gene expression, development and cancer.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Caco-2 cells, rat C6 cells, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the N-terminal region of human KAT2A/GCN5. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places histone acetyltransferase KAT2A in the nucleus and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in all tissues tested. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
