Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets elongator complex protein 3 (gene ELP3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 62.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 62 kDa.
ELP3 (also called KAT9) is the catalytic subunit of Elongator, the complex that installs carboxymethyl-based modifications on the wobble uridine of tRNAs to support accurate and efficient translation. The protein is conserved from yeast to human, and in mammals it is also studied for its roles in cortical neuron migration and neurodevelopment.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue, human K562 cells, human U2OS cells, human HepG2 cells, human A549 cells, human U-87MG cells, human Caco-2 cells, human HeLa cells, mouse kidney tissue, mouse lung tissue, mouse NIH3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human KAT9/ELP3. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places elongator complex protein 3 in the cytoplasm, nucleus and SUBCELLULAR LOCATION:. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in the cerebellum and spinal motor neurons. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
