Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 3 (gene KCNA3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 63.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 55 kDa.
Kv1.3 (KCNA3) is a Shaker-type voltage-gated potassium channel that opens in response to membrane depolarization. It is prominent in T lymphocytes, where the potassium efflux it carries helps sustain calcium entry during activation, and it is also found in neurons and other cells. Kv1.3 is studied as a target for modulating effector memory T cells in autoimmune disease research.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue, K562 cells, HeLa cells, 22RV1 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human KCNA3. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse and rat.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
