Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets intermediate conductance calcium-activated potassium channel protein 4 (gene Kcnn4) in mouse samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 47.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 48 kDa.
KCa3.1 (KCNN4, also called IK1 or SK4) is an intermediate-conductance potassium channel that is opened by intracellular Ca2+ through constitutively bound calmodulin, independent of voltage. By hyperpolarizing the membrane, it maintains the driving force for calcium entry in activated T cells, red blood cells, proliferating smooth muscle and other cells, and it also supports fluid secretion. It is studied in immunology, vascular biology and red cell disorders.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Mouse) |
|---|---|
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse heart tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant mouse Kcnn4 fragment (Tyr324–Thr425), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse. UniProt places intermediate conductance calcium-activated potassium channel protein 4 in the cell membrane and cell projection. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
