Product Overview
Clone 23K44 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes lysine-specific demethylase 4B (gene KDM4B) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 121.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 150 kDa.
KDM4B (JMJD2B) is a JmjC domain histone demethylase that removes trimethyl groups from histone H3 at Lys9, a mark tied to gene silencing and heterochromatin. It is required for normal development of the central nervous system and is often induced by hypoxia and estrogen signaling, making it a subject of neurodevelopment and cancer research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human SW480 cells, human 293T cells, human K562 cells, human Jurkat cells, rat testis tissue, rat brain tissue, mouse testis tissue, mouse brain tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 8% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human thyroid cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human KDM4B / JMJD2B.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places lysine-specific demethylase 4B in the nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
