Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects kinesin-like protein KIF1B in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 204.5 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 204 kDa, 199 kDa.
KIF1B is a kinesin-3 motor that moves along microtubules toward their plus ends. Its isoforms transport mitochondria, synaptic vesicle precursors and other organelles in neurons, and one isoform has been linked to apoptosis of neuronal precursors during development. KIF1B is studied in axonal transport, peripheral neuropathy and neuroblastoma.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, rat brain tissue, mouse skeletal muscle tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Recombinant human KIF1B fragment (Asp390–Leu1314), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places kinesin-like protein KIF1B in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Isoform 3 is abundant in the skeletal muscle. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
