Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes kinesin-like protein KIFC1 in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 73.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 74 kDa.
KIFC1 (HSET) is a kinesin-14 family motor that moves toward microtubule minus ends. It crosslinks and focuses microtubules at spindle poles, and it is especially important for clustering extra centrosomes into a bipolar spindle in cancer cells. KIFC1 is studied in mitosis and as a possible target for cancers with centrosome amplification.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human A549 cells, human MCF-7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human testis tissue, human appendiceal adenocarcinoma tissue, human esophageal squamous carcinoma tissue, human gastric adenocarcinoma tissue, human liver cancer tissue, human lymphadenoma tissue, rat testis tissue, mouse testis tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): Jurkat cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human KIFC1 fragment (Met1–Lys673), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places kinesin-like protein KIFC1 in the nucleus, cytoplasm and early endosome. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
